Thanks to the Clapp Memorial Library for Showcasing the Taiga

Some of my work displayed in the library

I just wanted to say a public thank you to Jennifer Whitehead and the Clapp Memorial Library for hosting me as part of their “Art Walk” Event.

I had a fabulous time talking about the Taiga, showing off my large and small prints, the costumes and meeting some other local artists. One of our favorite was Belchertown's own luthier - Louis Freilicher who was kind enough to let me and Zach try out his guitars!

Being back at the library that I grew up in was really special. The look of the place - it's a beautiful old building and being there, in the library and in the surrounding nature reminded me of the sparks of imagination that came from spending countless hours there reading as a child. I loved reading fairytales, fantasy books and mythology as a kid, and I think those influences shine through in my modern work. I love drama, romance and tragedy in my stories. I am less inspired by photography than I am paintings from the Renaissance to Pre Raphaelites.

I am so honored to have been asked to take part in this event, and really look forward to doing similar events in the future.

My Feature in the Local Newspaper

Special Thanks to Jennifer Whitehead for setting up this event! Jennifer is a librarian at the Clapp Memorial Library and inspired me to keep reading as a kid, and I was so excited to show her what I've been working on!
